Justice Pratap Kumar Ray was appointed as a permanent judge of the Calcutta High Court on September 15, 2000. He served as Acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court from October 31, 2012 to December 14, 2012. Superannuated from judgeship of High Court, Calcutta on January 08, 2013. Thereafter joined the Calcutta Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) on October 08, 2013. Justice Pratap Kumar Ray was appointed as a Judicial Member of the National Green Tribunal on September 24, 2014 and served in that capacity until his resignation from the post on June 30, 2016.
